Vasilis Papachristodoulou is taking over the duties of Chief Operating Officer throughout the entire 24MEDIA group.

Mr. Papachristodoulou, a distinguished executive, with many years of experience in the media sector and in business administration, founder of the sports site Contra.gr and consultant on development and strategy issues in large companies (SKAI, IMAKO, PeopleCert). During his last position in 24MEDIA, held the role of Business Management Consultant.

Women of Influence: Women “changed the game” for a second consecutive year

The Game Changer in Women of Influence conference, successfully held at the Onassis Cultural Centre on Monday 5 February, by 24MEDIA in collaboration with the strategic communications company “Symeon G. Tsomokos”, was sold out for a second consecutive year.

The conference was attended by more than 300 representatives of the business world and specialized executives of the sector. Following last year’s success, this year’s conference attempted to highlight the advantages of female participation in the economy and in society whilst contributing to a change in the mentality that hinders women’s access to highly influential and prestigious positions.

Elena Papadopoulou, Chief Officer of Human Resources for the ΟΤΕ Group, spoke about gender-based discrimination in the job market, noting that it is women themselves who take steps backwards. Manolis Theodorakis, HR Director Greece & Balkans for Toyota Hellas focused on how technological advancement will help women in the job market.

Fotini Kouvela, Secretary General for Gender Equality, presented the figures for female unemployment which remain at 25%, even though the gap between men and women has closed over recent years. Elena Fornaro CEO της ALES GROUPE Hellas, spoke of the equality framework which is not only institutional, but created by companies themselves.

A very interesting survey was presented by Michalis Masourakis, Chief Economist of the Hellenic Federation of Enterprises, regarding the equality between men and women in the job market, noting the low percentage of female participation in politics, whilst Charlotte Sammelin, Swedish Ambassador to Greece, spoke of Sweden’s outstanding gender equality policy.

The conference was held with the support of Lierac and Athens Tech College and under the auspice of the General Secretariat for Gender Equality and the Hellenic Swedish Chamber of Commerce.

Successful Completion of the first Game Changer in CSR & Social Impact

The 1st Changer in CSR & Social Impact conference, organized by 24MEDIA and the strategic communication company “Symeon G. Tsomokos” at the Onassis Cultural Foundation, was successfully completed on Tuesday 30 January 2018.

The conference was attended by more than 300 business executives, corporate responsibility specialists and students.

Katerina Mouzouraki, ‎Communications Manager of the ‎Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), presented interesting information concerning the construction of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline, the largest project taking place in Greece in the years of the financial crisis, whilst pointing out that the TAP is a Game Changer since it has contributed to a change of mentality in the three years since the investment began.

Michalis Spanos, CEO of Global Sustain, analyzed Greece’s priorities with regard to sustainable development. Myrto Xanthopoulou member of the donations management department of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, spoke about the needs of the social structures system and the necessity for the mobilization of citizens.

Dr. Angeliki Kosmopoulou, Executive Director of the A.K. Laskaridis Public Benefit Foundation, underlined the importance of working together for the common good. Also, Angeliki Papadopoulou, ‎Corporate Affairs Manager for ‎Nestlé Hellas, noted that we are responsible for enhancing our quality of life and contributing to a healthier future.

Nikolas Pefanis new CEO of 24MEDIA

With 30 years of experience, Mr. Pefanis has served as CEO and in other high-ranking positions at leading organizations in media (DOL, Tiletypos), the health industry (Mitera) and industrial production (Viohalco, Reckitt and Colman).

Founder and Chairman of 24MEDIA, Mr. Dimitris Maris notedwe welcome Nikolas Pefanis to the 24MEDIA family. Stavros Drakoularakos, CEO of new technology and investment firm

Dimitris Maris’ business group announces the foundation of a firm that is to assume the responsibility of the entirety of the group’s business strategy, with emphasis on the entrepreneur’s technological and investment activities.
 
As of 01/02/2018 Mr. Stavros Drakoularakos will lead this new endeavor. Having been appointed to a series of positions of responsibility since the establishment of 24MEDIA and with a successful track record as CEO, Mr. Drakoularakos shall be in charge of the new entity which constitutes  the cumulation of the company’s growth and development initiatives during the last five years.

Photography Exhibition "Tales from Uganda"

The Cycladic Art Museum is to host a photography exhibition entitled “Tales from Uganda”, a collaboration between 24MEDIA, ActionAid Hellas and the photographer Nikolas Mastoras, documenting the solidarity trip organized by ActionAid Hellas to Uganda, with the participation of 45 Greek and Cypriot Child Sponsors. During the trip ActionAid Hellas contributed to a substantial infrastructure project in the village Galagala in northern Uganda.

24MEDIA supported the work by ActionAid Hellas through the creation of a daily reporting blog on Oneman.gr under the category "Tales from Uganda", kept and updated by Christos Chatziioannou who also took part in the trip. The aim was to communicate to the Greek public the extensive involvement of ActionAid in the region as well as the way of life of the residents of the African nation. The photographer Nikolas Mastoras who was also a member of the expedition, captured unique moments from the trip, creating a series for stunning portraits which are also the theme of the exhibition.

The exhibition will be open for the public from the 6th to the 9th of December. Visitors are invited to witness the unique experiences from the solidarity trip to Uganda and at the same time to support the work of ActionAid Hellas by purchasing the portraits via a donation to the charity. 


 

First film by Oneman.gr shown at the Adventure Film Festival

The Greek film festival, Adventure Film Festival, dedicated to adventure sport activities, was successfully held for the fourth time on the 18th and 19th of November at the Athens College Theatre and Oneman.gr also took part.

The popular men’s lifestyle site presented at the festival the film by Dimitra Babadima “H2O: 2 parts Heart, 1 part Obsession” which tells the fascinating story of the ultra swimmer Spyros Chrysikopoulos who, last summer, successfully completed the 4-way crossing of Toroneos Bay, swimming for 34 consecutive hours so as to cover the distance of 104 kilometers.

H2O: 2 parts Heart, 1 part Obsession was shown on Sunday 19/11 and was enthusiastically applauded by the Adventure Film Festival audience. Spyros himself attended the screening and spoke of his endeavor and of his ambition to break further records.
